Fourteen.

Okay, so I lied about this being the last chapter, because I once again had another idea, lol. Sorry for the long-ish wait and sorry for the spacing at the end, I don't know how to fix it. :-S
Rylie's POV

I curl up in my big over stuffed chair in the living room, hating how quiet this place gets at night before I pull the blanket that's always on the back of the chair down and snuggle into it, not really finding the comfort and security I had been hoping for before dabbing at my eyes with just one of the many Kleenexes it seems as if I've used in the past 15 minutes, trying to compose myself before doing this. Sighing to relax myself, I finally pick up the phone and hit the green 'talk' button.

Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

"Hello?" Jodi answers, the sound of loud music in the background filling my ears.

"Hey.." I mumble quietly.

"Uh oh, that doesn't sound reassuring, are you alright?" she asks, concern echoing through her voice. I sit there for a minute, trying to figure out myself if I am or not, and eventually I hear the music get quieter and quieter as it sounds like she's stepping outside.

"You know what, I'll just call you back later. I should have guessed you all would have been going out after the big win tonight," I say quietly, deciding I need some more time to think about how I feel about this before I can even begin to describe what I'm feeling to someone else.

"You know I always have time for you," she says with a small laugh. "And besides, I haven't heard from you in a while, are you doing okay?" I'm about to respond when I hear an all too familiar voice joining her, and I freeze automatically.

"Is that Rylie?" I can hear Max ask, and then I can hear some of a conversation between her and him, Jordan finally stepping in and then all of their chatter disappearing before she starts talking to me again.

"Sorry about that," she mumbles, but I can tell she knows that I'm second guessing my decision right about now. "He asks about you all the time," she adds. I nod my head, knowing it's probably true, but then I realize how ridiculous that action is, because she can't see me. "He worries about you, you know," she throws in for emphasis. I still don't respond, and if she didn't know something was bothering me before, she definitely does now, probably because this is the most one sided phone call she's ever had, even though she loves to put her opinion out there to just about anybody. "So, I'm assuming you called me for a better reason than just to hear my voice, so you gonna spill it or am I gonna have to drag it out of you?" I sigh deeply before speaking up.

"I'm pregnant," I answer quietly, waiting for her reaction.

"Oh," she answers simply, obviously caught a little off guard. "Oh!" she exclaims again after it dawns on her that it's Max's, and that definitely puts me in a tight situation.

"Tell me about it," I mumble in reply.
Max's POV
As hard as I struggle against Jordan, it's no use, he's far bigger than me and I couldn't move him if I tried, but that doesn't have me giving up. Maybe it's a Talbot thing, or maybe it's just pure stubbornness, or it could possibly even be pure craziness, but even as he's flinging me back into the club, I'm fighting him 100 % of the way.
I could hear her on the other side of the phone, I could pick up her voice a mile away, so there is no use trying to tell me it wasn't her, so he doesn't even try, he just forces me back through the doors and back into the lounge area where he makes me sit on the vacant couch that everyone deserted quite some time ago for the dance floor.
"Okay, okay I'm calm," I surrender while raising my arms up, showing my defeat. I sit there for a couple seconds, waiting for him to turn his attention away, and he does, glancing over at the rest of the guys who are looking at us suspiciously. I dart off the couch and make a run for the door, but only for him to grab my arm seconds later and fling me back on the couch. Damn him and his long ass legs..
I look up to find him glaring at me and Kris on his way over with another drink for me.
"Okay," I say once again while raising my arms, then quickly grabbing for the shot and throwing it back, hoping maybe it will relieve some of the tension I've felt over the past couple of weeks. The three of us sit in silence for what seems like forever, both of them watching me as I stare at the bottom of my glass, swirling the small amount of liquid left in the bottom around, and being quite fascinated by it.
"Have you tried calling her?" Kris asks, finally breaking the awkward silence between us. That's how it's been for a while now. Every time we go out, all of the guys' girls look at me and smile sympathetically at me, offering their sisters or best friends to help ease the pain, saying that I could use some fun, and as nice as that sounds right about now, I know it wouldn't help in the least, so I turn them all down.
"She won't answer," Jordan answers for me after he realizes I'm probably not going to answer as I continue to stare at the bottom of my glass, it obviously being the most interesting thing in the world right about now. Him looking after me is also something else that has been happening a lot here lately, as if he thinks that somebody has to be right about now.
"And nobody knows where she went? Kris presses on, but this time Jordan just shakes his head no, and as I look up at him he has the same sympathetic smile on his face that everybody else has directed toward me since she left.
"Jodi does," I mumble before starring at Jordan intently, seeing if he'll crack or even budge a little bit. He stares back down at me, obviously knowing that I must be right, but hoping that I don't ask him to do what he thinks I'm about to.
"Oh no.. no, no, and no," he answers while shaking his head side to side adamantly as I grin up at him mischievously. "When she wants to be found, she'll come back, but I'm so not being a part of another one of you're schemes. It's not happening again, because I always end up getting my ass chewed out, so no," he continues.
I just stare up at him, knowing he'll give in eventually, just like he always does, as a plan starts to form in my mind.
